Don
Goede

I am a multidisciplinarian artist and entrepenuer whose energy, creativity, and passion knows no bounds.

God & Spirituality: I need it for everything I do.

Mind

My mind generally craves and needs Scripture but I sometimes refer to the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Old Path White Clouds, and The Essential Rumi for inspiration.

Body

Yoga, nutrition, and water. When I have time I love to ride my bike, hike, swim, lift weights, and run.

Spirit

I am still on the Red Road. As adopted Lakota I resonate heavily with First Nation (Native American) ceremonies. I remain a Lost Sun Dancer, Pipe-Carrier, and a very Lonely Lakota.

Consulting, Teaching, & advice

I consult in every aspect of art and business. I do my best to keep up with technology and media through anywhere there are moving images. I am fascinated with the transition into Virtual Reality. I generally only ask for lunch or dinner to pick my brain. I am sometimes available for S.W.O.T. analysis and online assessments. I can teach drawing to almost anyone and I am able to train in the fundamental aspects of Photoshop, InDesign, and am currently studying the Creative Cloud. I am relatively proficient on Macintosh Systems and keep up on Social Media impact. I am currently studying Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality.

Films / video/ Documentaries

Marketing

We all know that marketing is the process a business uses to promote and sell its products or services to consumers, other businesses, or organizationsThe goal of marketing is to create a relationship with customers, increase brand awareness and loyalty, and ultimately drive more sales. While, I agree with this definition, I feel there is a huge disconnect that money creates. While money is necessary, there needs to a softer and more natural way to connect consumers with products, services, and experiences. I explore the feelings that are involved with this relationship. I am currently writing campaigns that create AD-thuseum not Ad-nauseum.

Media In General

Media weaves its way into every aspect of our lives. I use it on every level and am constantly looking for ways for it to enrich our lives not overwhelm us. IN THE WORKS:

  • I am currently creating a marketing/branding/indentity/advertising agency to serve companies and projects that want life-long relationships with their clients.

Music

I wrote my first song inspired by working in the garden with my Mother when I was around 5 or 6 years old. I traded in my drawing, illustrating, and painting  for music (songwriting) sometime in the early 90’s. And I have never looked back. My biggest challenge is discerning, cataloging, and sharing over 1,000 songs. My latest personal project is to find 100 to put on Bandcamp. I am also starting my own labels to release 5-10 albums I think worthy. I vowed to stop writing songs in 2010. It’s hard! Below are some of my musical projects and bands:

  • Hyperjinx Tricycle (Alt/Indy) (w/ Daniel Johnston & Ron English)
  • The Electric Ghosts (Alt/Indy) (w/Daniel Johnston)
  • The Electric Illuminati (Rock) (w/ Michael Kimbrell)
  • The New Depressionists (Alt/Indy) (w/ Michael Kimbrell)
  • The BeeWees (Kids Music (w/ Michael Kimbrell)
  • Vegan Wolf (Blues) (w/ Michael Kimbrell)
  • The Kinnikinniks (Bluegrass) (w/ Michael Kimbrell)
  • The Cosmic Flying Goats (w/ Smokebrush Foundation)
  • Mind of Amelia (Ambient) (w/ Vincent Chase)

Publicity & Public Relations

Every aspect of business needs publicity on some level. I learned the art of public relations by learning to write effective press releases and creating healthy relationships with the press. I am currently working on a small series of videos explaining my approach. Below are four steps to effective getting good press

  •  READ or WATCH all media you want to be involved with or be covered by.
  •  Create a media database with said media outlets (television, newspapers, blogs, etc.) eep it current
  •  Learn to write a effective press release.
  •  Create a healthy relationship with targeted media.
  • Follow up!

Publishing

I am dusting off my publishing hat and starting a new publsihing company in 2025.

  •  Coming Soon

Video & FILM

The most basic difference between the physical object of film and the physical object of a video is whether it is light-readable or you need a machine to see what’s on it. If you unwind a bit of a reel of film and hold it to a light source, you’ll see individual images (called frames). These days video and film seem to be married! I distinguish them more with style. I use video to tell quicker and more fun stories while I compile a film to tell a longer or more serious story. Video is obviously more accessible! there will lniks to my reel soon.
